We are always looking for enthusiastic employees

A job at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung is a job like no other. Here, you can launch, transform and advance your career. Here, your contribution is important. Here, you are important.

We are constantly looking for enthusiastic employees, especially in the industrial-technical fields, but also in other areas.

More than 600 trainees learn a trade in the maintenance depots of
DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung across Germany. We are especially committed to attracting more young women to technical professions.

We are proud that we have been able to offer all successful trainees a position at
DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung or within the DB Group. University graduates from all sorts of disciplines – technical, commercial, social sciences – will also find exciting opportunities, e.g. in production, controlling and HR management.

Of course, experienced specialists, master craftsmen and technicians will also find a place in our company.

We offer nine vocational training programmes:

  • Industrial mechanic
  • Electronics technician/industrial engineer
  • Mechatronics technician
  • Device and systems electronics technician
  • Warehouse/logistics specialist
  • Industrial sales representative
  • Cutting machine operator
  • Coating specialist
  • Media technology/screen printing

The vocational training takes between three and three and a half years. A functional trainee coordinator at every maintenance depot ensures that the young talents receive the support they need. The functional trainee coordinator is supported by the line coordinators in the respective departments who design the training. Departmental mentors for vocational trainees at the maintenance depots train and support trainees in their practical training. In addition to the practical training, trainees must attend a vocational college. Trainees pursuing a commercial or technical vocation must spend some of their time at training facilities.

Cooperative Education Programme

DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung cooperates with various universities, for example the
Duale Hochschule Gera-Eisenach or the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Mannheim. In recent years, we have steadily expanded the portfolio to enable more young talents in as many regions as possible to achieve a university degree.

We currently offer the following cooperative education programmes:

  • Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering
  • Mechatronics and Automation
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Technical Management
  • Technical Sales
  • Business Administration/Logistics
  • Computer Science
  • Project Engineering

The cooperative education programme normally takes about three years and leads to a Bachelor's degree. During the program students alternate every three months between theoretical and practical phases. They receive support from a functional supervisor, a person responsible for the practical training as well as a local HR representative.

To remain competitive, we continuously invest in the further training of our employees.
