Wittenberge Maintenance Depot upgrades 24,000th freight wagon with intelligent telematics
At the end of April, the 24,000th freight wagon – a Shimmns wagon – was upgraded with wagon intelligence at the Wittenberge Maintenance Depot and thus "made intelligent".
This means that Wagon Intelligence has now upgraded far more than one third of the entire freight wagon fleet with telematics. By the end of 2020 it should be the entire fleet.
Rail Pankin, wagon intelligence technician and maintenance master from the Wittenberge Maintenance Depot is satisfied with this milestone: "We are delighted with the good partnership with DB Cargo. The new technology is easy to install and the app for commissioning is highly intuitive to use. Paperless commissioning is a step in the right direction. We have experienced no problems with the new equipment."
The colleagues in the amspire Digital Lab are particularly proud of the great performance of the maintenance depots and mobile upgrade teams. The process of upgrading wagons is running smoothly and at good speed. Our employees are optimistic about the ambitious goal of completing the upgrade by the end of 2020.
