Article: InnoTrans 2018: Rush of visitors to the DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung stand
The trade fair team hit the nail on the head with the products they put on show: DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung's pavilion, located in the outdoor exhibition area, had a high footfall throughout the event. "Usually, the first day of the fair starts slowly, but that was not the case this year," said Julia Kellings, the marketing consultant responsible for DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung's presence at the fair. "Our stand was very well frequented from the opening to the end. InnoTrans was altogether a great success for us."
Intensive and profitable meetings
The colleagues from Sales were able to hold many intensive meetings on every single day of the trade fair. "We have been on the market for a very long time and as a result we have many contacts, lots of which we were able to strengthen at InnoTrans," said Stefan Geisperger, Head of Sales at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung. "Some of the people we spoke to were already customers of ours, while others have the potential to become customers." International guests from places such as Denmark, the Netherlands, eastern Europe and Israel demonstrated interest in the product portfolio.
"In my view, this was the best InnoTrans we have had so far as exhibitors," said Tim Wollnik, sales manager for external customers from passenger rail transport. "The huge number of visitors to our stand is a sign that awareness of us in the market has increased. In the last few years, we have made great progress in communicating our company's image to the public. We have a lot to offer – and we have to show this."
Digital products explained visually
At the fair, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung demonstrated that it not only has good ideas, but offers sophisticated products too. The Colibri double-decker coach exhibited outdoors was a highlight that provided a good example of this. Visitors saw the various possible uses of Colibri as they walked through the vehicle. One of these is displaying an advertisement on the monitors in the coach for marketing purposes. In doing this, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung is making new business models possible.
Just as well-received was the closed digital information processing chain offered by our eService and Tag4Trace products in combination with one another: visitors to the stand were able to click through the eService online catalogue, and, via the customer, select and commission the overhaul of brake and electronics components, for instance. Tag4Trace, the principle behind the tagging and tracing system, was demonstrated using a model railway.
DB Management Board visits DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung stand
The Management Board also got an impression of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung at InnoTrans: DB CEO Dr Richard Lutz and Board Member Ronald Pofalla had a range of things explained to them, including MobiFix, the solution for mobile joining technology, and mobile maintenance methods such as 3D printing for quicker delivery of spare parts. They both expressed praise for the fact that solutions were presented that can lead to increased availability and punctuality, topics that are current in the Group.
