DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung achieves ISO 50001 certification

DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung has been certified to ISO 50001 – the international standard for systematic energy management. This is another significant step towards greater energy efficiency and systematic energy management.

The standard sets out a clear framework: systematically recording energy use, deriving key performance indicators, implementing targeted measures and ensuring that the results can be measured. In this way, we optimise our energy use in the long term, cut consumption, reduce operating costs and help to reduce energy-related CO₂e emissions.

We focus primarily on three aspects:

1. Cost-effectiveness: Energy efficiency pays off, particularly in the face of rising energy prices. Our measures are making us even more efficient.
2. Competitiveness: Demonstrating compliance with energy management standards already safeguards us against the increasing requirements already evident in our customers’ tenders.
3. Responsibility: We are constantly working on measures to reduce energy consumption and conserve resources.
