Article: Customer conference 2022: DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung presents sustainable solutions

After a five-year break, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung invited its customers to a joint exchange, which took place this year in the Kurfuerstliche Schloss (Electoral Palace) in Mainz. In several presentations and a panel discussion, the participants were shown how future-oriented maintenance can support growth on the railways.

In the historic atmosphere of the Kurfuerstliches Schloss, representatives of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung and their customers met on 8 November to discuss the future of rail transport. The specific question was how vehicle availability can be ensured now an in the future. In interesting presentations on perspective market and maintenance topics, solutions were presented to strengthen growth on the railways through future-oriented maintenance.

A wide network for maintenance services

"We want to use partnerships to offer our customers an even broader network for maintenance services and thus make a significant contribution to increasing vehicle availability," said Nicole Friedrich, Chairwoman of the Management Board, in the panel discussion with Nico Petersen, Managing Director Production, Rainer Beller, CTO and Managing Director MRCE and Dr. Michael Trumpfheller, Head of Fleet and Vehicle Technology at DB Regio. Friedrich pointed out that the demand for maintenance services is constantly increasing. In order to meet the demands of the market and to be able to expand its own capacities, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung will in future rely on a focused product range and the design of a general contractor concept. The participants agreed that the challenges of the transport turnaround and the maintenance market can only be met together in partnership models in order to exploit the resulting opportunities and synergy effects. The common goal remains to help shape the transport transition.

Afterwards, customers and representatives of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung had the opportunity to network together before heading home with numerous impressions and new insights.
