Digital technologies took centre stage at this year's DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung customer forum. More than 100 participants, including numerous representatives of internal and external customers, visited the plant in Kassel. In addition to informative presentations, the event also offered the opportunity for discussions and plant tours, followed by a get-together for informal dialogue.

More than 100 guests found their way to the Kassel plant on 14 November 2023. In the middle of the busy atmosphere of the plant, the customer forum offered numerous insights and discussions about the services of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung. One focus was on the topic of digitalisation. Nicole Höhn, Head of Business Development and Communication, hosted the programme. After a welcome from Plant Manager Thomas Killmaier and Head of Sales Boris Dobberstein, the event began with a review of the strategic development that began a year ago. Nicole Friedrich, Chairwoman of the Management Board, offered an insight into the "Einen Zug voraus" strategy, which creates the conditions for DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung to become a business partner on an equal footing with its customers. Nico Petersen, Managing Director Production, presented the role of the control centres as a success factor for improved standardisation at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung.

Digitalisation and outlook for the future

Tobias Hirt, Digitalisation and Data Strategy Specialist, explained to the guests the potential of digital assistance systems such as VR glasses in DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung's production. Steve Mörle-Heynisch, Head of Central Product Management, used the example of the digital screwdriving centre to demonstrate how intelligent tools can make work easier. The event not only featured presentations, but also an interactive Q&A session that enabled a direct dialogue between customers and DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung representatives. A plant tour for the guests also provided a first-hand insight into the processes and tasks of the Kassel plant. At the same time, visitors had the opportunity to find out more about the services of DB Fahrzeuginstandhalung and its plants at various market stands.

Conclusion on the transfer table field

After the official end of the event, there was a seamless transition to a get-together, which took place on the transfer table area of a factory hall. This provided an opportunity for personal discussions, networking and the informal exchange of ideas and impressions. As a result, the customer forum was remembered by visitors as a successful event that offered plenty of room for interaction and networking in addition to informative presentations.
