Article: DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung makes a successful appearance at InnoTrans 2024
There was a lot to discover for over 130,000 visitors at this year's 14th InnoTrans. From 24 to 27 September, exhibitors from 59 countries presented their innovations on an exhibition area of 200,000 square metres and with over 130 vehicles on 3,500 running metres of track - making this year's leading trade fair for the transport industry bigger than ever before, according to the organisers.
DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung welcomes numerous guests
Visitors were able to get an overview of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung's projects and products at two locations at the trade fair - both at the Group stand in the City Cube and at the partner stand with DB Systemtechnik in the outdoor area.
With Colibri, the flexible and expandable system of innovative technologies for vehicle fleets, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung presented various possible applications at the Group stand and on the outdoor area site. A live connection between the two exhibition booths enabled visitors to see what was happening at the other booth via live stream. Customers use this feature with Colibri in their vehicles - for example, in the event of an emergency stop, the cameras in the vehicles switch on and the German Federal Police or a previously defined recipient can connect via stream and see what is happening in the vehicle in real time. Colibri can also be used for passenger counting, vehicle diagnostics or traveller information, to name just a few applications.
At the stand in the outdoor area, the topic of ETCS was presented together with DB Systemtechnik using the example of retrofitting existing vehicles. A driver's cab replica specially developed by the experts demonstrated that it is possible to retrofit existing vehicles even where space is limited. With the ETCS device, the old operating modes such as LZB and PZB can also be reproduced in a familiar way.
ETCS equipment is mandatory throughout Europe for new lines and main lines. A vehicle equipped for the future today is fit for continued operation on a route network that is rapidly developing towards ETCS. DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung and DB Systemtechnik are reliable and active partners to their customers in the rail sector as integration and approval partners, including for the "First of Class".
On 26 September, DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung also welcomed DB CEO Dr. Richard Lutz and Chief Digitalisation Officer Dr. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, who took the time to join Nicole Friedrich (Chair of the Management Board of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung) and Nico Petersen (Managing Director of Production at DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung) to receive expert explanations of the individual exhibits.
Another highlight of the trade fair was the award ceremony for the 2024 3D printing competition. A total of almost 100 entries were received this time.
